My name is Kelsey, and Blue Lake has been my summer home to since 1992, when my mom found a lease there and gave my brother and me a little piece of paradise to grow up in.

It is more than just a place — it’s a community where friends become family, children are raised by a village, and time seems to slow down to a simpler, kinder way of life. Parents become aunts and uncles, neighbours become lifelong friends, and generations of memories are built together.

On July 7 and 8, wildfire tore through our small Blue Lake community, and 8 families lost everything.

Many of those affected were uninsured and now face the heartbreaking reality that they may not be able to return or rebuild without financial support.

As someone now raising my own children in this same community, I cannot imagine Blue Lake without the families who helped shape it and make it what it is.

I am starting this GoFundMe to help support those who lost their homes, belongings, and sense of security, and to give them a chance to rebuild. More than that, I hope to help keep our Blue Lake family together and restore the community that means so much to all of us.
