Rebuild #ARTCAMP

My name is Fox and I'm fundraising to rebuild Art Camp for my community. After 26 years of directing Art Camp for our local community arts center, I was dismissed from my position on the grounds that they were now looking for only certified teachers. I am not certified, but I do have a Fine Arts Degree and twenty-eight years of classroom experience. I've spent over two decades building the camp as a place for art kids to find a home. I am devastated to lose this connection to the kids in my community and also what I saw as my legacy that I would leave behind when I'm no longer on earth.

Your donation will help me to rebuild my Art Camp independently. The resources that I've been building for so many years had to be left behind at the arts center. These start-up costs and one-time purchases will lay a base for an amazing program. I can't do it without help. Receiving this news in March left me with no time to pick up the pieces, reconfigure my plans, and reengineer my career by the summer.

My ultimate vision is huge. I want to build a place for not only Summer Art Camp, but a safe place for kids and adults alike to get creative, experiment, find themselves, and most of all have fun, because art should be for everyone. I would love to extend this to after-school art clubs, workshop space for Saturday learning, a gathering space with art as the core element. I want to keep this vision within the budding Midland Arts District where my studio is now and where people can get public transportation to the facility. Any funds raised over my goal with go to find a commercial property, turn on the electricity and water, down payment, insurance, etc.
