Rebuild Arroyo 3 Park After Hurricane

Hello all.

No one likes asking for money, it's awkward. There is so much need in the world from war victims to natural disaster victims, that asking for money for a simple park in a simple village in rural Mexico seems strange. But kids having a park to play in seems like a righteous cause and so here I am.

Arroyo 3 is situated on the coast of Oaxaca. 6 years ago, I crowdfunded and gathered sufficient funds to build a basic park. Materials were bought with the funds and the town came together to build it. It was a beautiful. But time is the enemy and the torrential rain, the relentless sun, and the salty air deteriorated the park. The final blow was a Category 3 hurricane that pretty much destroyed most of our work.

There is much of the park that is salvageable, so besides rebuilding and improving what we have by sanding, painting and replacing, we want to build a fence (https://www.mortisportandplay.co.uk/services/sports-playground-park-fencing), erect a shadecloth (https://www.paskal.com.au/commercial-heavy-430.html), and buy a new hard plastic play structure (https://www.xpertplay.com) that won't rust. All of this with the idea to create something that withstands the elements and time.

With the goal of 120,000 Mexican pesos or 6000 USD, we will be able to create a beautiful park that will be played in by generations of children. With your help, we can make this happen. Thank you so much for your consideration.

A nadie le gusta pedir dinero, es incómodo. Hay tanta necesidad en el mundo, desde víctimas de guerra hasta víctimas de desastres naturales, de pedir dinero para un simple parque en un simple pueblo del México rural parece extraño. Pero niños teniendo un parque donde jugar es una causa justa, aquí estamos pidiendo.

Arroyo 3 está situado en la costa de Oaxaca. Hace 6 años, reunimos fondos suficientes para construir un parque básico. Compramos el material con los fondos y el pueblo se unió para construirlo. Fue hermoso...pero...el tiempo es el enemigo y la lluvia torrencial, el sol implacable y el aire salado deterioraron el parque. El golpe final fue un huracán de categoría 3 que prácticamente destruyó la mayor parte de nuestro trabajo.

Hay gran parte del parque que se puede salvar. Nosotros podemos reconstruir y mejorar con lijas, pintura y reemplazando lo que hay, pero queremos también construir una cerca (https://www.mortisportandplay.co.uk/services/sports-playground-park-fencing), colocar una mallasombra (https://www.paskal.com.au/commercial-heavy-430.html) y comprar una nueva estructura de juegos infantiles hecho de plástico duro (https://www.xpertplay.com) que no se oxide. Todo esto con la idea de crear algo que resista ante la lluvia y sol por mucho tiempo.
