On June 28th, Anuban Angthong school in Angthong Province, Thailand was burned to the ground due to excessive heat. This is devastating news for the community. For most kids, school is the place where they feel safe, where they can play, where they feel loved and where they can get a proper meal. School is the place where kids can act like kids and still have the adequate education. For over two years, young adults and community kids gathered around Anuban Angthong school where we played football, American soccer. By doing so children were able to work on developing their life skills where they were able to interact with others, understand different perspectives, and respond thoughtfully, which are essential for building strong relationships throughout their lives. Our initial goal is to raise $15,000. All your kind donations will be invested in rebuilding a new and improved school for currently displaced students and community youth. Money will provide the material and labor to build a new school for approximately 150 students. Any surplus will be used to buy school materials, furniture and supplies to meet the basic needs for 150 community students of Angthong province, Thailand. The entire process will be closely monitored by community leader and my counterpart, and I will provide updates on regular basis.

For over two years, Anthong was my home. As many of you may know, I am a recently returned Peace corps volunteer, Thailand. From January 2023 until March 2025 my post as a Youth in Development Volunteer was in Angthong province, Posa, Thailand. The entire community became my family, and every single student became my child. They have shown me how happy we may be having very little to almost nothing.
