[...He confided that he hasn't been paid in 5 months...!]

A very close relative of mine called me up to raise funds for the Yeshiva he works for.

I thought it was so nice that he was giving his time to help his Yeshiva on top of his busy schedule.

And then, he confided in me that he has not been paid in 5 months because the Yeshiva ran out of funds and was well over $70,000 in debt.

I swallowed and realized what that meant. He has a whole family to care for and he has no money coming in to pay for their basic needs.

And so he is doing the humiliating task of calling around to raise his own paycheck on survival mode.

I immediately gave him $200 that I had available and I ask you all to join me from $10 and up to contribute towards raising at least some money towards his paycheck.

If we reach my initial goal I will aim for the rest of it but let's start here and give this special Rebbi that devotes his day to teaching young teens Torah the bread and butter for his family.
