Greetings & Hail to All!
Calling out to all the Water, Dark, and Land Faefolks! Not to forget our Muggle friends too!
My name is King J'vonte Lee, and I'm starting something HUGE! I need all my community members to join me as I build a community that includes all those who have once felt excluded or just want to be in a familiar space from the Renaissance Fantasy realm. Let me explain my mission by introducing you to RealmScape!
Art comes in many forms, and my festival RealmScape will foster artists from all colors of mystic. RealmScape is meant to be the most amplified, inclusive space, a Fantasy festival celebrating Folk Fantasy, Spirituality, traditional cultural lifestyles and, the best part, Role-playing--that we've EVER seen in one whole space! Fantasy enthusiasts incorporate art into their lives in many ways. From costume design, creative writing, musical composition, painting and interactive performances, creative outlets abound in the realm of fantasy. Many fantasy hobbyists will practice multiple art forms all at once, and each builds their own persona to match. The deep connection fantasy folk has with their persona, art, and inner self makes the community itself so diverse. As Baltimore's Elven King 2022-2023, I decided to host a small festival called FaeryScape in the Fells Point area. This event was well-loved by the community, but it shed some light that there are some areas in the Renaissance Fantasy community that we lack. I saw this and knew that as the Elven King of Baltimore, I needed to take charge and change this. That's why I want to start RealmScape. My goal is not to separate but rather inspire change and open doors to those who were led to believe there was no place for them in our community.
King J’vonte Lee is Baltimore’s Elven King 2022-2023! The Elven King is ready to spread his kingdom further into the magical world of fantasy. We celebrated his majesty in the Spring of 2022 in Fells Point, Baltimore, at FaeryScape - Celebrating Afro Fae Day, and it was a huge hit! Due to his great success, his highness endeavored to grow his vision to bring more magic into Baltimore. Therefore, King J’vonte proudly presents RealmScape and hopes you all will support this fundraiser. Together our community can construct a wondrous new realm filled with fantasy, magic, and art.
As the owner of Realms Workshop, the King has been able to offer more and more to his people. RealmScape is King J’vonte’s most significant work yet!

RealmScape is the premier fantasy and renaissance festival in the country! With an expected attendance of 10,000 people, we firmly believe that our celebration will make history - certainly in the city of Baltimore. It will become a staple of the community and an event that is looked forward to year after year. This dream will happen no matter what, but funding to help kickstart this project will enable us to grow more quickly. As of today, planning has already begun, and a Team of Directors has convened. We are scouting venues that are accessible (ADA compliant and beyond the bare minimum), easy to reach by public transportation (as the youth of Baltimore can't easily travel to other festivals outside the city), and large enough to host over 2,000 people a day; along with entertainers, vendors, and staff.
We will determine the date of the festival once we establish the exact location, but we are currently deciding between two community centers. We will have our celebration at the end of April or early May. This timeframe will allow our committee time to plan, fundraise, and promote the event. It also coincides with my crowning as Elven King of Baltimore. With April 2023 as the available time to hold this event, we will use the time between now and April 2023 to plan and prepare. We will finalize the location by September and pay the venue our deposit. Once the venue is secured, we will immediately turn to logistics and further fundraising. This will take place between September 2022 and November 2022. We will purchase decor, hire set designers to build props and a stage, and hire graphic designers to make our signage, posters, flyers, and other marketing materials. Our official website will be constructed and built to facilitate form submissions for sponsorship applications, vendor hubs, and as a platform for all promotions. We will also purchase radios, arrange for sound equipment rentals, and begin scouting for volunteers. We want to throw a Ball for adults after the festival for One day, which requires hiring more performers such as bands and other variety of entertainers. Between December 2022 and March 2023, we will train our volunteers, hire entertainers, fill all our vendor spaces, and acquire community-based fiscal sponsors. We will heavily invest in marketing and promotions during this time. All event logistical aspects, such as permits, public safety, parking, transit, hotels, and communications, will be fully established.
Finally, in April 2023, we will host our event as a 3-day weekend festival. Each day we will have various themes and activities planned. The event will end on a Sunday evening and allow for all attendees to return home for the rest of their week. We will have our next festival date and venue selected ahead of time so our community knows to look forward to us year after year.
To get involved and show your support please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign! Festivals like this require a tremendous amount of money, but it’s all for the greater good when we bring the community together and see you all smile!
Consider also becoming a volunteer, a vendor, or a sponsor of RealmScape. To volunteer, please email the King’s head of Court, Chris Hefty
