Help Us Make Christmas Magical for Local Children

Every Christmas, thousands of children in Reading face the heartbreaking reality of waking up to no presents at all. Many are living with poverty, illness, disability, or difficult home situations and without your support, it's highly likely they won’t receive a gift this year.

That’s why we’re launching our 2026 Toys & Teens GoFundMe Appeal. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us put a smile on the face of a disadvantaged child in our community.

What Your Donation Supports:

This year, we aim to collect tens of thousands of toys and gifts from donation points, schools, churches and local businesses. With the help of an incredible team of volunteers, we will check, sort and pack every single item in a local church hall before delivering them to organisations across Reading who work directly with families in need.

These gifts are then distributed to children aged 0–16 who would otherwise go without.

But every year, we face the same challenge:

Some age groups, especially teenagers, don’t receive enough donated items. Many toys need batteries to work and some supporters simply can’t reach donation points or don’t know what to buy. That’s where your donation makes all the difference.

About Reading Family Aid

Reading Family Aid’s mission is simple:

To put a smile on the faces of disadvantaged children in the Reading area.

We support children living with poverty, disability, chronic illness, or challenging home circumstances. Some are young carers; some live in families affected by addiction or abuse; some have additional needs themselves.

Through our Toys & Teens Appeal, we provide Christmas gifts to thousands of children every year. And when funds allow, we also organise outings and activities for families who otherwise couldn’t afford them.
