REACHing Out: Supporting Vulnerable Communities in BRAZIL
Donation protected
Brazil is home to the largest population of people of African descent outside of Africa. According to the 2022 census, 10.2% of Brazil’s population—about 20.6 million people—identify as Black.
Unfortunately, over 30% of Black Brazilians live below the poverty line, which is more than twice the rate of white Brazilians. In addition, they face systemic disadvantages due to racism and discrimination.
As part of Black History Month, JLR’s REACH Employee Network is raising funds to support disadvantaged Black communities in Brazil, and we would deeply appreciate your support.
To kick off our fundraising efforts, on Friday, 27th September, a group of Black employees took on a challenging hike at Llyn-Y-Fan Fach in the stunning Carmarthenshire countryside of Wales. This was just the beginning of our efforts.
In December, REACH Chair, Mandisa Gordon will be visiting JLR colleagues in Brazil to continue this important work.
We’ve played our part, and now we invite you to contribute. Your donation will help us give back to a worthy community in need.
Thank you for your support!
