Holiday Care Packages for People in Prison

We are fundraising to send holiday care packages to people who are currently incarcerated. Our relatives on the inside have not seen their loved ones for over 8 months as visitation has been shut down since the pandemic started. They do not have the technology to make video calls so have not even seen the faces of their loved ones for the entirety of this pandemic. On top of that, they are not able to receive any packages during the holidays from their loved ones.
We are grateful to have been given permission to send care packages to several institutions throughout the prairies.
The care packages will include some or all of these things depending on institution:
Blank Christmas Cards for them to send their loved ones
Writing Prompts and Colouring Pages
Pack of pencil crayons
Small chocolate bar
Pack of playing cards
Hair Scrunchie
Small soap
This fundraiser is a collaborative effort between Inspired Minds: All Nations Creative Writing program (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1576853365779327/about ) and STR8 UP (https://www.str8-up.ca/ ).
The art used for this fundraiser was created by a former Inspired Minds participant, the late Dennis Taniskishayinew. We hold his story in our hearts as we remember what it means to be a good relative.
Our relatives on the inside need our love and support. We hope you will be able to contribute to making their days just a little bit brighter during a time when we need each other more than ever.
