RC3 Fundraise for Anna Ogden Hall Women’s Shelter

A note from the River City Cycling Classic (RC3) Omnium Race Director:

 

To all the racers, volunteers and community I have an important topic to share with you. Something very near and dear to the RC3 crew and TeamODZ Spokane since inception has been our mission statement, “inspiring a healthier community by connecting people through cycling and giving back”.

 

Last year through COVID while not able to race we were able to support some amazing charitable causes from Ronald McDonald House of Charities to NAMI mental health and even local business affected by restrictions and shutdowns.

 

This year thankfully things have improved in many regards. However, our vision and purpose holds true. With that said, we’re extremely excited to partner with UGM Anna Ogden Hall Women’s Shelter. Their LIFE Recovery program help women move from homelessness and hopelessness to contributing members of society. Part of the program includes a weekly cycling group and an annual trip to the Trail of the Hiawatha on the Idaho/Montana border.

 

As one who been alongside people battling addiction (which can come in many forms) and hopelessness in the past, I can deeply relate to, as I know many of us can, the outlet and recovery that riding and racing bikes provides us.

 

To that end, we have decided to share a portion of our proceeds with Anna Ogden Hall for their LIFE Recovery Program to help further their outreach and women’s cycling.

 

Additionally, we would be forever grateful if you would stand beside us in helping raise enough funds to cover the remaining costs of this year’s Hiawatha trip and as well as funds towards the purchase of a new bike (or 2 or 3) to replace the dilapidated ones they are limited to currently. You can donate here any time before and up to 1 week after the RC3 Omnium (Aug 14-15, 2021).

**100% of all funds raised here will go directly to Anna Ogden Hall’s LIFE recovery bicycle program**
