We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support for my sister-in-law Caylie, her husband Jason, and their daughter Zoey.
Caylie’s journey began when she was only 29 years old. For six years, she has shown us the true definition of strength, enduring grueling chemotherapy to fight Stage 4 colon cancer. Despite her warrior spirit, the cancer metastasized throughout her body and has now taken over her lungs. This February will mark one year since she began hospice care. She made the brave decision to stop treatment because it was stripping away her quality of life and leaving her in constant pain. She wanted her time to be defined by love, not just illness.
While she has fought for every second, her time is now creeping in quickly. She is struggling for every breath and requires constant, 24-hour monitoring.
Through years of sickness, the most incredible light has been their daughter, Zoey. She has quite literally grown up helping care for her mother, staying by Caylie’s side since the very beginning. As things have worsened, Zoey has stepped up in a way no child should ever have to, staying up through the night to watch over her mom so Jason can finally get some sleep. Alongside Zoey, Caylie’s two devoted dogs, Gidget and Jewels, haven’t left her side, providing comfort and loyalty when words aren't enough.
Because Caylie needs around-the-clock care, Jason has had to stop working to be her full-time caregiver. With no income entering the home, the financial strain has become a mountain they cannot climb alone. The bills have stacked up, and the daily costs of food and utilities do not stop just because life is on hold.
We are raising funds to ensure that Jason and Zoey can focus entirely on Caylie during these difficult days without the immediate terror of financial ruin. Your donations will go directly toward:
• Overdue household bills and mounting expenses.
• Food and essentials for Zoey and the family.
If you are unable to donate, we ask for your prayers and thoughts for Caylie, Jason, Zoey, and our entire family. Every bit of support, whether financial or spiritual, provides a small amount of peace during this devastating time. We are holding onto every moment we have left.
