Ray Beesley's generosity and love of children were legendary. For decades, he was the "real" Santa to thousands of children, soothing their fears and drawing them in with a soft voice and warm smile. He made doubters into believers. He reminded parents that their children were their greatest gift, and gently reminded them to take care of themselves.

He adored all children, but none so much as his 4 daughters, 2 sons, and 5 grandchildren. To his family and friends, he was so much more than Santa. He cared for everyone he met, loved with an unparalleled fierceness, and gave of himself endlessly. He was a man who selflessly brought hope, love, kindness, belief, and a chance to relive our childhood with the spirit of Christmas. He was an is a shining example of humanity at its best, how we should all be in this world.

Ray passed on December 2, 2016. True to form, he worried most about the children who would be disappointed not to see him this year.

In his memory, the family has begun Ray's Christmas Miracles, a fund to provide holiday joy to children in need. Ray Beesley devoted his life to children. Now his legacy may live on.
