Ray Olley Memorial Project 2023 (R.O.M.P.)

Time Critical Goal: Unveiling to the Public on Veterans Day November 11, 2023 (mission accomplished but funds still needed to pay off remaining remittances).

Raised to date: $89,000 of the $97,000 needed for the full site completion & remittances. Additional funds raised will go toward future maintenance.

The Ray Olley (Gold Congressional Medal Recipient) Memorial Project is in partnership with Veterans of the US Armed Forces; Veterans of Allied Forces; community rescuers & emergency responders; dedicated patriots & proud American citizens. The R.O.M.P. volunteer members are unparalleled in their dedication to construct a 6ft Brass WWII Landmark in the likeness of Ray Olley USN (Battle of Leyte Gulf 1944) and the Ship Mascot Elinore (war dog) who left Ray's side and was lost at sea. Our mission is to continue activities well beyond the site completion date (with any funds received after costs are satisfied) for awareness against animal cruelty, an extension of assistance to veterans & community responders suffering from the devastating effects of PTSD, military events, appreciation events for spouses of vets with PTSD, & military history education for children to facilitate the understanding & commitment to the ideals & value of democracy.
