My brother, his wife (who is also my best friend), and their three boys are going through something no family should ever have to face. Their home recently caught fire, forcing them to evacuate and leave everything behind. While they are safe — and for that we are endlessly grateful — the damage to their home and belongings is devastating.

Everything they own is either drenched from the fire hoses, covered in soot, or carrying the heavy smell of smoke. The boys’ bedrooms, which were closest to the fire, suffered the worst of it. Sadly, many of their things may never be salvageable.

It will be weeks, if not months, before they can return to their home. In the meantime, they need to replace essentials and find comfort in having clean, safe things while they work through the long process of rebuilding and restoring.
