UPDATE: Shep made it from Denver to Durango on the Colorado Trail! We'd still love for you to help Raton Boy Scout Troop 91 continue to raise funds for outdoor adventure. Thank you!
In his desire to support the young men of Boy Scout Troop 91 in Raton, New Mexico, our intrepid explorer, Shep the Sheep, will be venturing out into the wilds of Colorado armed only with what he can carry on his back, as he forages the Rocky Mountains by transversing the Colorado Trail. Starting August 28, 2017 in Denver Colorado, his goal is to finish in one month, logging in approximately 17 miles a day in his quest to fundraise for the Boy Scouts of Raton, NM Troop 91 for SCOUT CAMP, OUTDOOR ADVENTURE, and a TRIP TO ALASKA. Comprising 486 miles, this expedition will eventually end by September 28 in Durago, Colorado, skirting along a trail system that has an average elevation of 10,000 feet. This trek is not for the faint of heart. Fortunately Shep is one Baaaaaaaaad Sheep!
Hiking alongside Shep, Scoutmaster Jared will be keeping folks updated via facebook on Shep's progress.
If you want to contribute, Scouts from Troop 91 will be gathering pledges or you can donate right here. They will gladly take anything from a penny a mile ($4.86) to $1/mile ($486) or anything in between!
All the funds raised will go directly to the Scout Troop (minus gofundme fees.) You can also donate via check or cash to Troop 91. Contact Shep for more details.
So don't be baaaaashful!
Put some spring in Troop 91's step today and throw a few dollars their way! Shep the Sheep is going the extra mile, baaaaaakpacking the Colorado Trail in style. Ewe won't regret it.
