Rashod Bateman is the Week 8 NFLPA Community MVP for getting more than 200 pediatric patients in the Halloween spirit at his fourth annual "BATEMAN boo-tique."
The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver covered the costs for a festive event at a local Ronald McDonald House, bringing joy and satisfying the sweet tooth of children who are undergoing medical treatment for illnesses and injuries. Thanks to Bateman, the facility was able to purchase costumes, decorations, candy, pumpkins craft supplies and dinner, ensuring that none of the kids missed out on the fun of Halloween.
After seeing some of his relatives use the pediatric care services offered by Ronald McDonald Houses, Bateman has been a long-time supporter of the nonprofit. This has included honoring and raising money for the Ronald McDonald House through the My Cause My Cleats initiative and making visits to the local facility.
"To be able to keep coming back every year and put a smile on the kid's faces has been great," the fifth-year pro said.
In recognition of Bateman being named NFLPA Community MVP for Week 8, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) will donate $10,000 to his nonprofit of choice. Along with the other Community MVPs from this season, he will also be eligible for the Alan Page Community Award, which is the NFLPA’s highest player honor and includes an additional $100,000 donation.
As part of a new supporting partnership with GoFundMe, fans can now also make a donation directly to the NFLPA Community MVP’s selected nonprofit here.
