I can remember Randy the Running Man as being a Hometown Hero since I was a little girl. If you've lived here for any amount of time, you have a story of seeing him run EVERY day with his American Flags and such pride for his Country and fellow man. If you've ever had the pleasure of talking to him and getting to know him, even just a little bit, you know he is one of the most humble human beings ever put on this earth. Which is one of the many reasons we are doing this. Randy brings smiles and great memories to many Pensacolians, but what you don't know about him would break your heart. Randy lives in his home in which he shared with his mother up until she passed away. He has been by himself for the sine then. His home is in need of many repairs and him being so humble, he will not ask for help and just do the best he can fixing this himself. Jeff and I have talked about how we can help him. Randy has been apart of Jeff's family since before he was born. Randy isn't aware of how much he really means to this community and we feel like our community can come together to show him how loved he truly is. He is in need bathroom floors, toilets, bathtub, paint, really a remodel of his home. I've seen the people of this city come together for many people and in my heart, I feel like Randy is more than deserving. We have some contractors that are willing to help with some of the remodel so far. If you are a contractor and can donate your expertise, it is greatly appreciated. The money we raise from this will go to buying him appliances, furniture, paying his bills up a bit, and helping with the remodel. If you can donate, please do. If you can't, that is ok too. Just please share this or even donate your time and help us on site. Anything you can do to help show this man how much he is loved would greatly be appreciated. All of the money raised will go to assisting in the remodel process, purchasing things needed like appliances, furniture, and other necessities he needs. Anything left over will be given to Randy in a cashier's check. Jeff has talked to Randy and he has given his permission to do this, although he didn't understand why anyone would want to help him. Let's show him why! Come on Pensacola.... I know we can do this for him.
