A miracle occured last night in that my dear friend Tammy Revard's husband Randy, who has long suffered pulmonary illnesses, received a double lung transplant.
Randy endured a grueling 8 1/2 hour surgery last night and is currently recovering in ICU, but with this amazing miracle comes financial hardships. Randy is at the UC San Diego Sulpizio Center in La Jolla, one of the best places he can possibly be, but which is also unfortuantely 72 miles from his and Tammy's home in Canyon Lake.
Insurance will only cover housing costs for hospitals 75 miles or more from the primary residence.
Last night before surgery, Randy expressed his gratitude and love for friends and family while doing his "happy dance," and I want so much to show him and Tammy how much we love them in return. These two people mean the world to me, so I am pleading your assistance in helping to alleviate the transportation and housing costs they will incur during Randy's recovery, which may take three to five months.
Anyone who know this amazing couple knows their love for life and giving hearts, and I know they would never ask this for themselves, so please help me in ensuring that they know how much they mean to us. I'd love to raise enough this week to cover Tammy's hotel room at the very least while she stays by Randy's side in ICU. Any money raised will go directly to Tammy and Randy to help alleviate their financial hardships during Randy's recovery, so they can instead focus on the amazing blessing they have received. Thank you!
