The Friends of San Ysidro and San Ysidro School District are working on a joint project to name the Library at Willow School in honor of Mr. Ramon Parra, a long-time resident of San Ysidro, who dedicated 47 years of his life to the betterment of our community. He successfully raised a large family, ran Cash King Market, founded Little League and Pony League Baseball, Served on the Planning Board, Recreation Council, School Board, Model Cities, LULAC, President of Border Lions Club, Charros Association, Organizing Committees 4th of July, Cinco de Mayo and Fiestas Patrias Celebrations, Volunteer Fire Department, Founding member of the San Ysidro Health Clinic, Advisory Committee Chicano Park, President of Cesar Chavez Migrant Workers Union, SY Chapter, SDPD Advisory Committee, Chamber of Commerce, Founding member of SY Senior Center, among others.
