Ramadan Runners fundraising for the Ramadan Soup Kitchen

The Ramadan Runners from the Chiltern Champions running club are doing it again! We will run, walk, skip and cycle at least 5k every day during Ramadan to raise fund to feed people who are need of a healthy cooked meal.

In 2022 with your help we raised £3,605 for the Great Community Takeaway. That's funding for 721 cooked meals for vulnerable people in the Chilterns who needed help with food for whatever reason. The Big Community Takeaway is no longer operating so this year we are raising funds for the Chesham Mosque Soup Kitchen.

The Ramadan Soup Kitchen will provide a healthy cooked take-away meal for anyone who needs it - all friends of all faiths and none are welcome. It will be open every Saturday during Ramadan starting 8 March 2025. Register your interest, reserve a meal or just turn up and collect your take-away meal.

It is crazy that the affluent Chilterns or indeed anyone in the UK, need to resort to the likes of The Big Community Takeaway, Chiltern Foodbank and The Community Fridge amongst many other fantastic charities. We are however immensely proud that they do exist and are supported by so many of you. The Ramadan Soup Kitchen sits alongside these food charities and is proud to step up to help as much as it can.

So many of us are fortunate that we don't have to go without; we know when our next meal is coming. The precious month of Ramadan teaches us to recognise the plight of others and reach out and help. That's why the Ramadan Runners are running while fasting between dawn and dusk to raise money for The Ramadan Soup Kitchen so that they can help those in need. Every £5 you donate pays for a nutritious meal for one person. 100% of your donations goes directly to Mosque Ramadan soup Kitchen Fund.

Every runner will donate £5 towards the cause for every run they complete. So come join us in the challenge and complete a run with us! Alternatively just donate and make a difference to local people in need.
