Support Our Ramadan Iftar Project for Women & Girls in IDP & Refugee Camps

Marginalized Women Foundation is the first women-led organization from our marginalized and minority community. We are educated young women who survived life as IDPs and refugees ourselves. Today, with leadership based in the USA, Kenya, and Somalia, we have come together to give back to our own community.

We are raising funds for our sisters, our mothers, our grandmothers — the women who are still living in IDP camps in Somalia and refugee camps in Kenya.

This Ramadan, as we also honor International Women’s Day in March, we are launching a special Iftar Project to support some of the most forgotten Somali women and girls facing extreme hardship.

Due to major global humanitarian funding cuts, food assistance has significantly decreased. Hunger is rising in IDP and refugee camps. Women are often the most affected — skipping meals so their children can eat, carrying the burden of survival in silence.

We know this reality because we lived it.

Now, we want to give back.

Our goal is to raise $3,000 to feed 120 families this Ramadan.
  • 60 families in IDP camps in Somalia
  • 60 families in refugee camps in Kenya
  • Each family food package costs $25

Each $25 food package will provide essential staple foods to support Iftar meals and help sustain families throughout Ramadan.

By reaching this goal:
  • 120 families will receive direct food support
  • Over 600+ individuals will benefit
  • Mothers will be able to prepare Iftar with dignity

Our Goal
We are fundraising to:

  • Provide nutritious Iftar food packages for women and families in IDP camps in Somalia and refugee camps in Kenya
  • Support improved nutrition during Ramadan
  • Honor the strength and resilience of marginalized women during International Women’s Day
  • Restore dignity, hope, and community during this sacred month
  • This is more than a meal. It is an act of love, solidarity, and responsibility.

We survived — and now we are reaching back to uplift our sisters and mothers who are still there.

Together, we can ensure that no woman breaks her fast in hunger this Ramadan.

Please donate and share.
