Salaam/Hello folks!

Queer Halal Time (QHT) is Hamilton's very own Queer Muslim Grassroots Movement/Community. This Ramadan (The holy month of prayer, reflection, and community!), we are organizing a Food Drive on April 4th, 2024 to give back to our community.

The intent is to raise $2000 to feed approximately 100 folks who need a warm, homemade, hearty meal. For us to be able to do that, we need YOUR help. Every dollar counts and adds up, please help us feed our Hamilton community. We’re looking at around $20/meal (includes food, a drink, and all the packaging). 

Any donations over $2000 will go straight to UNRWA (http://donate.unrwa.org)

Huge thank you to Compass Community Health Center in helping facilitate this Food Drive by allowing us to use their Community Kitchen to cook all of these meals from scratch. Another huge thank you to all of our donors and volunteers, we would be unable to do this without your contributions and support. We love you.

P.S: Initially we were fundraising by collecting donations via E-Transfer, but for the sake of transparency (as well as convenience for folks outside of Canada), we have decided to start this GoFundMe. The $725 that were donated to our Treasurer/Finance Coordinator, Bilal Ahmed, have been added to this GoFundMe.
