Ramadan is almost here. While many of us will gather around full tables at iftar, some families will break their fast in the back of small, shuttered shops they now call home. A widow trying to stretch the last handful of rice. Children pretending they’re not hungry. Orphans who don’t know where tomorrow’s meal will come from. We are preparing Ramadan food baskets for impoverished families, widows, and orphans. Each basket is designed to feed a whole family for the month, providing essential food so they can fast and break their fast with dignity. For some of us, this is a small expense. For them, it’s relief, peace, and one less night of worry.
