Rally to support Crush Comics!
Donation protected
In the early morning hours of March 22, 2025, at 3:02 AM, two burglars shattered the front window of Crush Comics on Castro Valley Boulevard—for the second time in recent memory. This time, they made off with some of the shop’s most valuable and irreplaceable high-end wall books.
Josh and Andrea, the passionate owners of Crush Comics, are more than just small business owners—they’re pillars of the Castro Valley community. Their shop has been a safe haven and nostalgic cornerstone for comic lovers of all ages for decades. Seeing their hard work targeted and stolen is devastating, and we can’t sit back and let this horrible and invasive act of theft define their story.
We're raising funds to:
Help restore their high-end comic collection, which holds significant but hard-to-quantify value.
Repair the damage to their storefront and window.
Contribute toward improved security measures to prevent this from ever happening again.
While insurance will cover some of the losses, it never covers everything—especially when it comes to collectibles and the emotional toll on small, family-owned businesses. That’s where we come in. This is a chance for the Castro Valley community—and beyond—to rally behind Josh, Andrea, and Crush Comics and help them come back even stronger.
Our initial goal is $10,000, but every donation—big or small—helps. Whether you’ve been a lifelong customer, dropped in once, or just believe in supporting small businesses, your contribution matters.
Let’s turn this terrible moment into a show of strength, solidarity, and support. Let’s show Josh and Andrea that we have their backs.
Let’s take the power away from these criminals—by helping Crush Comics not just recover, but thrive.
