Rally for Vera: Help Fund Her Medical Journey

Hello everyone,

This isn’t exactly the way we had hoped this story would go so far, but my dear friend Vera is in great need in this season of life. She has fought tirelessly for herself and others her entire life, both within her faith community, as well as the greater DMV area in her nonprofit work.

Her days are spent taking 20+ medications, coordinating with dozens of medical specialists, seeking to find the cause of losing more than 150 pounds and the loss of mobility that caused her to become unable to work. She struggles to sit up for more than a few minutes, to eat, and resorts to crawling to the restroom. Despite these great difficulties, she continues to fight on for life!

Now, more than ever, she needs her community to come together for her. She didn’t want to ask for the support she needs, but unfortunately, after her long-term disability claim was denied, she has accepted that to get to the place where she can get better, she needs to receive the love she’s planted.

While financial support isn’t all that she needs, there’s the reality that the medical care requires significant funds, as well as keeping the lights on while we walk through the appeals process, and getting the necessary treatments to get her well again.

Though she remains hopeful and faithful, she needs those who are able to support her in this time to ensure she can continue to live life and it more abundantly!
