Come on guys let's do this. Mike needs our help! He is such an amazing human that loves everyone.

This is Larry DeLay, Mike’s Pastor. He went back to the doctor today and wanted me to reach out to you with a little bit of a summary of the latest visit.

Bottom line: Mike is still struggling to get better, although he has still made quite a bit of improvement. When we spoke to the doctor, Mike shared several things with him that were concerns.

1. In the process of the last visit to the hospital, Mike was nonresponsive that night. So, the paramedics apparently did CPR on him in doing so they left his sternum very sore, to the point where the doctor thinks they probably broke a rib. So he’s having some difficulty with that

2. He’s having some pain in his calf, to the point that they sent him to the doctor for an MRI. The Prostate doctor that did the surgeon was going to try to access those records and see what the results were from that.

3. He’s still having a really difficult time getting some of his bodily functions to work correctly. So in the process, and was all of the weight that Mike has lost, the doctor indicated that he would leave his catheter in him right now to continue the healing/draining process do they allow his body to try to continue to heal. However, the doctor also believes that some of Mike’s internal organs have shifted some, and it’s messing with the waste process in his body. So, he indicated that he believes he needs to put Mike back in the hospital in about four weeks and do another procedure/surgery to try to correct and shore up all of everything inside there. He also indicated he couldn’t open up his abdomen again presently because it just needs to heal and there’s too much scar tissue on top of everything else.

4. He also stated that his PSA came back at 0.06, so there’s apparently some cancer still present in his body. However, he also said that it’s been there for a while, most likely, and that, right now, he didn’t want to give him any other Treatment for that at this point to try to give everything else time to heal.

5. He encouraged Mike to contact his PCP for a follow up visit to be sure that they are monitoring his sugar level. So, he’s getting that done, as well.

6. Mike also asked about possibly connecting with a personal trainer or a PT coach to help him begin to do some things that would help build his strength back up. There was also the obvious discussion about trying to not do too much, so that there was no further damage caused.

7. Presently, this is where everything stands. So, right now, he’s just going to continue doing what he’s doing and wait to hear from his prostate doctor about the next procedure, again projected for about four weeks from now.
