Hello, my name is Katie. The reason I’m here today is because my coworker, Megan, experienced something no dog owner should ever have to face.

Let me first tell you a little about Megan. I’ve known her for over 9 years. She is the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back, even if it was the last thing she had. Megan and her husband are raising three wonderful children. She works full-time at Dingmans Medical as our incredible receptionist—someone who is truly loved and appreciated in our small community.

Yesterday, something terrifying happened. A bear entered Megan’s yard. In an effort to protect her dogs, she rushed to get them all safely inside. Thankfully, the dogs were not hurt, but in the chaos and fear, they became overwhelmed and turned on Megan. As a result, Megan suffered significant injuries, including a fractured arm and the need for 14 stitches.

Megan loves her animals deeply—they are truly part of her family. This unexpected incident is not only physically painful but will also lead to ongoing medical bills, doctor visits, and possibly therapy.

On top of everything, Megan recently invested a large sum of money into repairing her van, which is now unusable. She has no reliable transportation, making it difficult to get to her medical appointments. Meanwhile, her husband works long hours in NYC, and Megan is typically the one who manages things at home, including cooking for the family.

This fundraiser is to help support Megan during this difficult time—with medical costs, transportation, and even simple things like takeout meals while she recovers.
