Rally for Mac & Dad After Tragic Loss
Donation protected
My dear friend Mac & her dad have had to face the unimaginable, losing their mom &wife. They lost their loved one just a short week ago. Due to this tragedy Mac & her dad are out of work trying to figure out
what life leads to next. I know small communities can rally together and help the purest of people out. Any amount will help out with all expenses medical, funeral, bills since they are not working.
Thank you for everything!
update:
Hi everyone! I just wanted to put my own message out there to answer any questions. My name is McKenzie and I am Margarets youngest child. Around Christmas 2024 my mom had COVID for the 3rd or 4th time. She became very weak and very sick. She visited the hospital multiple times a week trying to get answers and she was usually given fluids and sent home. Fast forward to February she was admitted to the hospital for blood pressures around 80/40, increased weakness and altered mental status. She spent about 2 weeks in the hospital at this time. After this stay she was discharged home with home health who would come visit her at home. A few weeks later towards the end of March she was admitted for 5 days for the same symptoms, low blood pressure, high heart rate, increased weakness and altered mental status. At this point home health discharged her and no longer came to her home as they felt like they had no more to offer. Her last admission was 4/22/2025 where she was admitted with the same symptoms. During her hospital stay it felt like she was on a rollercoaster, some days were good, others were not so good. Her blood pressure was so low anytime she was to try and sit up she would vomit or pass out. The hospital provided lots of fluids to try and help her blood pressure and this resulted in fluid retaining on her lungs. She was sent to ICU and they provided her with diuretics to help remove fluid. While she was in ICU they also found that she had an bowel obstruction which likely caused her symptoms of vomiting and decreased appetite. An NG tube was placed in her nose (after a VERY LONG conversation between me and her, me trying to convince her to get it) and she had that for a little over a week, it went well and she started feeling better. She eventually had the NG tube removed and replaced with a feeding tube to help provide nutrition while she was gaining her appetite back. Everything felt like it was getting better around this time, she was finally to a general floor and she informed me, my brother and my dad that she "might be feeling better"! Things took a turn for the worst on 5/13/2025 when she had increased breathing and decreased oxygen levels. Doctors found out that my mom had aspiration pneumonia and we had to make the hard decision to send her to ICU to have her intubated to try and help her lungs rest and get better. Throughout her stay in ICU her lungs progressively got worse and she started to have more fluid on her body. We started dialysis to remove extra fluid and my moms condition rapidly declined to the point she lost her fight on 5/26/2025. My mom is survived by me, McKenzie her 23 year old daughter, my 28 year old disabled brother, Dakota, who has cerebral palsy and my dad, David, whom my mom has been with for 25 years. My mom was a full time stay at home mom to my brother for his whole life. My dad, David has been taking full time care of my brother since my mom got sick which in result has not allowed him to work currently. My dad is trying to work out a plan to get a part time job while my brother is at his day program. There has been a lot of financial distress within our family due to medical bills, the loss of my dads job and the loss of my moms fight for life. We decided on a cremation for my mom as this is what she wanted. We plan to have a celebration of life at some point soon, we will update with details on this. If anyone can assist with anything during this hard time anything and everything will be appreciated!
