Rally for Kate Corrigan's Recovery Journey
Don protégé
On Thursday, January 16th, our sister-in-law, Kate Corrigan, suffered a massive stroke. She was taken by ambulance to Loyola Medical Center, thanks to the early intervention of her three kids, Maeve and Molly (14), JT (13) and her Mother, Mary Jane. After a six-hour touch-and-go surgery, she made it through but not without extensive complications.
Kate is being transferred to The Lutheran General Long-Term Acute Care Rehabilitation Unit today, Tuesday, February 4th on what would have been the 20th Wedding Anniversary for Kate and Kevin, her late husband. Many of you know that Kevin passed away in March of 2021. To say that life has been challenging for their family would be an understatement.
Kate is currently paralyzed on the left side of her body but remaining strong, and we are grateful that the stroke occurred on her non-dominant side. She has retained speech, hearing, and language, but it will be a very long road to recovery.
We are raising funds to help support her family during this trying time. Any amount would be so very appreciated and make a huge impact. Funds will go to support her kids, ADA upgrades to their house, and what we anticipate will be mounting medical costs and financial needs going forward.
We thank you so much for any support you can give.
Love,
The Corrigan and McNulty Family
