Rally for James Clifton: Urgent Medical Support
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out today to ask for help on behalf of my Uncle, who is currently in the MSICU. Our family is facing a difficult and uncertain time, as we still don’t know exactly what is causing his condition. What we do know is that he’s declining rapidly, and our hearts are heavy with worry for him.
My Uncle James Clifton has always been a strong and caring person in our lives, and now, our family is rallying to support him during this incredibly tough time. Unfortunately, my aunt—his wife—has had to reduce her work hours significantly in order to be by his side, which has put a strain on their financial situation.
As we wait for answers and pray for James’ recovery, my aunt and cousins have been doing everything they can to stay strong and support their father (husband), but the reality of mounting medical bills and the reduction in my aunt's income is starting to feel overwhelming. That’s why we’re turning to you, our community, for help. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help ease the burden they are facing right now.
The funds raised will go directly toward covering medical expenses, transportation costs, and helping my aunt with basic living expenses while she’s unable to work as much. Thank you for everything.
With gratitude,
The York / Mason Family
⭐UPDATE: James Clifton has been diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune disease where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues, specifically the neuromuscular junction, leading to muscle weakness and fatigue. He is currently in the MSICU⭐
Update 2 from Nancy (wife, mom, & Nani): James is my husband, father of our two kids, Jimmy and Jon, and a grandpa. He’s been a hard worker and family man his whole life, but he has his toughest job currently- fighting Myasthenia Gravis. It’s an autoimmune disorder that affects his nerves communicating with the muscles. He’s currently suffering from the ability to swallow or talk. Not even being able to swallow water put him in the ICU where he is intubated and being fed through a feeding tube.
I can’t properly describe how it feels, watching the person you built a life with being kept alive by machines, the good will of the medical staff, and the man above. Blessed to have him with us here still yet knowing the burden of the medical bills to come. We’re currently on day 11 of hospitalization with a litany of tests and procedures that have been done. Thats why I’m reaching out to you for support. Hopefully, we will be able to bring James home and when we do it would be great to have some sense of normalcy. If you have read all this, thank you. If you can’t donate I ask that you please share. It all helps. Read on if you would like to get to know James a little better.
James has had a tough go of it from a very early age. At just the age of 3 he had his head ran over by his aunts car where he was miraculously okay. In his teen years he was bitten by a tick and developed Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Where he was partially paralyzed and in the hospital for a good stint. After all this adversity, he still went on to be a great football player and wrestler in high school, even got the eye of some college prospects.
After high school, he went into the business of binding books and magazines. He worked long hours in that field for many years for a couple different manufacturers to provide a good life for us. He also built and rehabbed houses for additional income.
Update 3: James is out of the hospital and enjoying life. Thank you everyone.
Fun facts:
-James has incredible aim and could knock the hair off a mice.
-He has owned 2 trucks his whole life. Both F150s.
-He is a very talented carpenter and could build just about anything.
-He loves bonfires and made in USA tools.
-His dream when he retires is to build bird houses out of scrap wood in his workshop that he and his sons built.
