Help Replace Matthew Gage’s Stolen Bike After Emergency Surgery
Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out on behalf of my nephew, Matthew Gage — a kind-hearted and resilient young man who’s been through a lot this past week.
On Wednesday afternoon, May 14th, Gage was rushed to the ER with a large abscess on his chin, which turned out to be a serious bone infection in his jaw. He was taken into emergency surgery the same day. Thankfully, the operation went well, and he's now on the road to recovery. We’re incredibly grateful he’s okay and healing.
Unfortunately, while Gage was in the hospital dealing with this medical emergency, someone stole his bicycle from his school — the very bike he relies on every day to get to and from school and around town. It’s heartbreaking that in the middle of such a tough moment, he also had to face the loss of something so important to his independence and daily routine.
I’m hoping to raise enough to get Matthew a new bike — something safe, reliable, and maybe even a little better than the one that was taken from him. He deserves a win after everything he’s just been through!
All funds raised will go directly to his father, Henry Mereness (Marty), to replace Matthew’s stolen bike and support him during his recovery.
Every little bit helps — whether it’s $5 or just sharing this campaign. Let’s show Matthew that kindness still wins.
Thank you so much for your support.
With gratitude,
Matt and Sharon Cantley (AKA: Uncle and Aunt)
