Hello everyone,

This is Sarah, and I’m posting on behalf of our family during a challenging time. About three years ago, Cody suffered a stroke and has been working hard to improve his health since then. He has lost well over 100 lbs and within the last few months, received a clean bill of health from his doctor. We were fortunate he had a stable job and steady salary income during the stroke period, but now his position pays hourly. Cody has been in the trucking industry for 13 years and holds a CDL. Driving a truck is the only career he knows, and realistically, he may have to start over with an entirely different career path, which is not going to be easy for him or our family. When a CDL is taken from a driver, it's incredibly difficult on them. They are difficult to get and to maintain. He is having a hard time feeling like he will have to close this chapter of his life. The last thing Cody needs is stress and more anxiety.

This is especially challenging because Cody is the sole income provider for our household, which includes our five children: a 15-year-old, a 14-year-old, a 5-year-old, a 3-year-old, and a 1-year-old. Raising a family of 7 on one income has been difficult, so there isn't much available as far as savings goes.

Recently, this past Sunday, Cody suffered a heart attack that continued through early Thursday morning, and he was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon. They confirmed cardiac damage and found a blood clot in one of his arteries. Because of the medications he’s on, the doctors are being cautious and haven’t fully cleared him to return to work. They have told him light duty only, but this doesn't really apply to his position since he is required to have an active CDL for his position. He is expected to be released from the hospital on 08/16 and his hopes were to return to work Monday, but it's just not possible.

Cody has already missed work and will likely miss many more days due to upcoming medical appointments, which creates a lot of uncertainty for us. We are already behind on bills just by him missing this week of work. I do not know what the future holds for us, but I know that we have an Almighty God that will pull us through.

Any support you can offer would mean the world to us. If you prefer to use another method to donate, please reach out to me directly.

Thank you so much for your kindness and support. God bless each and every one of y'all. To those sending up prayers and reaching out with all the heartfelt messages, you have truly touched our hearts.
