The Dream She Built

I am writing this with a heavy heart to support a dear friend—a single mother of three beautiful girls (ages 15 months, 5, and 13). Over the last two years, she has done the "impossible." She successfully transitioned off public assistance, landed a stable job, and through incredible sacrifice, managed to save $10,000.

This wasn’t just money; it was her family's safety net. It was earmarked for daycare, summer programs, and essential supplies for her oldest daughter, who was just accepted into a specialized Art High School for the fall. It was the physical proof of her hard work and her children’s bright future.

The Heartbreak

Last week, the unthinkable happened. Her home was burglarized, and her entire savings—hidden for safety—was stolen. She has searched every inch of her home and retraced every step, but the money is gone.

To work for two years to build a life of independence, only to have it taken in an instant, has left her devastated. Beyond the financial loss, the emotional toll of feeling unsafe in her own home while trying to stay strong for her three daughters is overwhelming.
