Rally Around a Rider's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hey, I’m not sure many people know, and if you do, you know how much I love to ride. Sadly, that’s the way I got here. On Wed, June 2, at around 11 pm, I was heading home when my bike low-sided on me. I lost consciousness and didn’t wake up till the morning, heavily sedated. I honestly thought my leg was gone by then. Thankfully, I was able to keep it. I had a nasty open break: femur, tibia, and fractured my ankle on the right leg. The left leg is good for the most part but had to undergo surgery to clean out the wound. I’m on my second surgery, and I’ll be having a third, possibly more, due to tissue damage, missing bone, and skin grafts. Besides the break, I was lucky to only have a little road rash, but the motorcycle, my pride and joy, wasn’t so lucky as it ignited, and the rest was history.
I hope you're able to share this and to also bring safety awareness as motorcycle riding season, especially in Florida, is starting. Riding is definitely not a game. Be careful out on the roads as us riders get taken out every day. Thank you for your support.
