Support the progress & lives of young BAME people

Donation protected

Hi guys,

I am an aspiring 13 year old artist from South London with the ambitions to share my work across the world and help my community along the way.

I started drawing/painting from age 3 and like everyone else at that age I just did it for fun. At around age 6 is when I realised how passionate I was about the work I created. I would spend most of my spare time sketching and painting at home.

In 2018, for Black History Month I painted an iconic portrait of Malcolm X.

During this time I decided to create prints of my work in exchange for a donation to my chosen charity, Voyage Youth.

I chose this charity because it focuses on nurturing leadership potential in young people especially working alongside BAME kids, transforming disadvantaged communities and peoples lives.

The leadership programmes aim to transform lives by helping to :
•Reduce unemployment among BAME youth.
•Increase educational attainment for young BAME people.
•Reduce the number of young BAME people going into the criminal justice system.

Malcolm X was a fearless leader and his community spirit and fight against racial oppression made me realise how important it is to give back to my community.

I went on to raise just over £350 for Voyage Youth.

My parents took me to visit the team and to meet the teenagers that were taking part in the programmes facilitated by Voyage. It was a good opportunity to see what the donations would be used for and to speak about what I was doing.

I was also invited to present an award at the Voyage Youth Graduation Ceremony. This took place during the summer of 2019 at Westminister Cathedral.

It was a great experience and I was honoured to have been given the opportunity to do this.

I have decided to raise more money for Voyage Youth and I want to give anyone that didn't manage to donate before the chance to do so now.

Even if you donated before, you can still donate again!

Thank you in advance for your contribution to a cause that means so much to me.
