Hi,

My name is Jackson, i am running a 10k in Edinburgh to help raise money for the Penicuik Community Initiative. In March my girlfriend had surgery on her ankle and was unable to be mobile and was resigned to staying inside the house. Over time this took a toll mentally and we could both see that she was struggling. This is when i approached the Penicuik Community Initiative, a small volunteer ran shop selling second hand items to help the local area. I noticed a mobility scooter in the shop and jokingly asked how much it was and to my amazement they lent them out to people just like my girlfriend who were in need of freedom. All they asked was for a donation when it was returned. The change in my girlfriends mental health that day was instant. We could never thank them enough for how much they helped us and on top of the donation we gave on return of the scooter I have decided to run a 10K and raise as much money as i could to help them out even more.
