Assalam alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh brothers and sisters.

First and foremost Ramadhan Mubarak. May the blessings of Ramadhan be on all of us and may Allah accept our prayers and fasts!

The last 5 years during the holy month of Ramadhan we have raised money for orphans, communities and mosques in Zanzibar, in an area called Kizimkazi, Mkunguni. The mosque is called Al-Madrasatul Mutahida. All the money raised went to providing them food for Ramadhan, clothing and basic necessities. Last year, with other donations, we were able to provide iftar for over 70 children and make renovations to the mosque, which has been beneficial for all the orphans and the families that live in the village, Alhamdulilah. We were also able to assist in the making of a new mosque in Chuini, Zanzibar, called Madrasatul Muadh.

Jazakallah kheir to everyone that donated, your charity was very much appreciated and didn’t go unnoticed.

We have decided to continue the support in helping to provide for the mosque and the children as well as food and clothing. Money will be spent on providing iftar during Ramadhan and Eid expenditures for the orphans.

We would like to help them in any way possible to bring happiness and ease into their lives. Therefore we have created this GoFundMe to raise as much money as we can. We will also be continuing with our charity sale, where we will be selling milk cakes, drinks, sweet bags etc.

With the money raised this year inshallah, we plan to help in building a small scaled mosque in chuwini njia ya mawimbini. The current mosque is in poor condition, with unstable walls that pose safety risks, inadequate sanitation facilities that make ablution and hygiene difficult, and no electricity, limiting lighting and the use of a sound system for prayers. Building this mosque is essential to ensure the community have a safe, clean, and functional place of worship.

Building a mosque is more than just constructing a place of worship—it’s about creating a center that serves the entire community for generations to come. Mosques are not only spaces for prayer; they are hubs of learning, charity, and community support. In Islam, contributing to the construction of a mosque is considered Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, ‘Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.’ Your support is not just a donation, it’s an investment in endless blessings (Sadaqah Jariyah) that will benefit you in this life and the hereafter.

Charity is the truest salvation for a person and such a noble deed never goes unrewarded in the eyes of Allah (S.W.T). There is always goodness in giving no matter how little.
