Raising money for Minehead Middle school after tragic crash!
Donation protected
On 17 July 2025, a school coach carrying around 60–70 pupils from Minehead Middle School overturned on the A396 near Wheddon Cross while returning from a trip to Exmoor Zoo, sliding 20 feet down a steep embankment. Tragically, one child died at the scene, and 21 others were injured—two seriously, with one reportedly losing fingers. An off-duty firefighter who witnessed the crash was first on the scene, helping rescue trapped children before a major emergency response involving air ambulances, paramedics, and over 60 firefighters arrived. The crash occurred on a winding, rural road with no guardrails, and its aftermath prompted widespread grief in the community, with local schools closing in solidarity and floral tributes laid at Minehead Middle School. Authorities launched an investigation, while leaders including Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed condolences and praised the heroic emergency response.
