Raising money for Casa Amarela and my friend Lucas

Hello everyone,

My friends Jay Jay, sage, and I have signed up to run the Brooklyn Fair Half Marathon this Sunday.

We’re doing it to raise money for Casa Amarela, a beautiful community initiative that uses art, culture, and education to empower youth in Morro da Providência, one of Rio de Janeiro’s most historic favelas. When I visited Casa Amarela, I had the privilege of meeting Lucas, who gave me a tour and shared what it was like growing up there. Over dinner, Jay Jay and I also learned he’s currently trying to raise funds to buy a home of his own.

So, Jay Jay and I will be splitting whatever we raise: half will go to Casa Amarela, and half to Lucas. Hopefully this mission gives us enough fuel to cross the finish line!
