Want to join me in making a difference? I’m raising money to benefit Beat (Formerly Eating Disorders Association), and any donation will help make an impact.
Every year I do a very elaborate pumpkin carving display for halloween, and this year I'd like to use this as an opportunity to help make a difference in something that I care a lot about. I am someone who has been affected by anorexia nervosa for most of my life, and at times it has completely consumed every area of it and I began to feel like I may never come out the other side. Beat were there with advice and support to see me through some of the darker times, and I'd like to be able to do a little to not only give back, but also help others who are walking in the same shoes.
More information about Beat: Beat is the UK's eating disorder charity. Their purpose is to try and end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. They do this by working directly with sufferers and their families, and by using that experience to highlight the challenges they face and campaign for change.
They also partner with the NHS to provide services for those with an eating disorder, their carers - such as family and friends - and training for healthcare professionals. The work they do means that every year lives are saved, families are kept together, and people are able to live free of eating disorders.
Beat's vision is a society where people with eating disorders experience care and understanding, and where they can quickly access treatment that supports a rapid and sustained recovery.
