On the 4th August our worlds were turned up side down when my beautiful 15 year old daughter Kacey was rushed into hospital with suspected appendicitis after what we thought was a sickness bug for a few days, things were far worse than we imagined, I stood there in shock as the surgeons told me she had a twisted bowel and nterception of the bowel, basically where the bowel collases in on itself, they needed to operate there and then, in an ideal world he wanted Birmingham children's hospital to do the operation as they are more specialised but they quite clearly stated that she would not make the journey. 5 agonising hours later she came out of surgery where the surgeon explained he had removed a large section of bowel she also had a very large cyst removed. she was transfered to paedeatric intensive care for 3 days and kept on life support, the amount of tubes and wires where she fought for her life was something i will niever forget, she is now on a high dependency unit where we have remained since. Thankfully I got a space in the amazing Ronald Mcdonald house so I don't have to leave her. She is slowly but surely making progress, her bravery and resilience has amazed us all, the surgeons doctors and nurses are all astounded at how she has pulled though. Kacey is 16 on the 4th Sept my aim for doing this is to give her the best birthday we can possibly give her, even if it means celebrations later. After everything she is going though I want to bring some brightness to her world, and if you choose to donate no matter how small we would be so grateful
