Inspired by the successful volunteer search for Celine Cremer, we’ve begun the process of forming a non-profit to find more missing people around Australia (starting in Tassie). Our mission is to help bring closure to more families, friends, and their communities. With this in mind, we’ve registered the name “Find Our Lost Loved Ones” and trademarked the acronym “FOLLO”. However, forming a charity takes months and requires fundraising to cover the processes.
While we do that, we also want to keep the momentum going. We have a 3 day search involving almost 70 volunteers organised for the end of May, aiming to find Peter Willoughby. After that, we already have plans for other Tassie searches.
We want our searches to be safe and methodical, so months of work go into them before the search begins. As we’re all volunteers, it means sometimes we don’t have adequate gear. We’d like to begin addressing that by buying more radios, first aid supplies, hi-vis vests, etc.. for our volunteers to use.
