Raising funds for Vikky and Bella

Hello, we’re six siblings, Lisa, Jodie, Cris and Liam, Kevin and William.

We’ve recently lost our Dad, Colin Kearley, after his long battle with a variety of health conditions. He was our real-life Indiana Jones and we’re all devastated at the loss.

Our Dad’s main worry in his last days and weeks, was for the safety and welfare of his wife, Vikky, and 7 year old daughter Bella, who are currently in Ghana with no income - Dad having been their only real source of finances.

Dad worked incredibly hard his whole life, but didn't have anything to leave behind in the end because of his illnesses and being unable to work. Bella, (who holds a British passport) isn’t able to go to school, and despite Vikky being incredibly resourceful, and who has tried to set up various sources of income since Dad became ill, has been struggling to support herself and Bella financially. This is made only more tricky as Vikky has no formal education and is having to navigate the world within that challenge. Falling ill is also a concern for them given there is no access to free healthcare in Ghana.

Neither Bella or Vikky got to see Dad before he died, the last time being almost a year ago when he travelled home to the UK and fell ill.

We want to do everything in our power to raise funds to support them both. Whether that’s for Bella’s school fees, general living, or to continue their endeavours to return to the UK where they lived with Dad for the past six years. Or to go towards lawyers, visas, flight fees, and to get them settled once they are here. That choice in the end will be up to them, and they will need all the support they can get.

We’ve set our goal initially at £3,500, which we know will be no easy feat to reach, but realistically they will need as much as possible to get themselves set up and into a position where they are safe and secure, so we’re hoping to raise much more!

What we’re asking of you?

Whether we know you or not, thank you! We’re crushed at losing our Dad, and Vikky also, on losing her husband, but it will help us massively as we do our own healing to know that when we reassured him in his last days ‘not to worry’ and that ‘we would do what we could to make sure they were ok’, that we can deliver on that promise to him.
