skydive for Fakenham Community First Responders
On the 24th July Laura and I are jumping out of a plane!!! No, we haven't lost the plot ( well maybe a little!?) we raising money in aid of East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust Charitable Funds.
I joined Fakenham Community responders Autumn last year and I completed my training in December 2024,
Community First Responders are volunteers trained by East of England Ambulance Service to attend life-threatening medical emergencies in the community. First Responders are dispatched to the most serious 999 calls and undertake life-saving treatment before the ambulance arrives.
As a volunteer group we are responsible for fund-raising all of our life-saving kit, uniform and communication devices. We are unpaid and use our own vehicles to respond to 999 calls. As you can appreciate, it takes a very special kind of person to undertake this volunteering activity.
We carry comprehensive medical kits, including a defibrillator, pulse oximeter, oxygen, airways, blood pressure monitor, dressings, blood sugar test, dedicated NMA phones etc. Each kit costs about £3,000 Some CFRs also have Raizer chairs (£4,000 each) to assist in lifting people who have fallen.
Any donation, no matter how small would be greatly received and we thank you in advance
