Raising Funds for Drogheda Museum

Drogheda Museum at Millmount is Ireland’s only entirely volunteer run museum location. Home to the iconic Martello Tower, it brings character to the skyline of one of the county’s most important historic towns. Like most tourist attractions, however, Drogheda Museum at Millmount has been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. The significant decrease in foot traffic to the museum has meant that we have had to rely on our limited reserve funds to maintain and protect the artifacts and exhibits we house. These funds are beginning to dry up.
As a result, we’ve set up this gofundme campaign in an attempt to raise funds to keep our doors open. The museum and tower are an important resource not only for the preservation of local, but also of national, and international history. The museum houses some of the finest preserved guild banners in the country, while the tower lights up the Drogheda skyline with a magnificent light display. However, we need your help to ensure that this fantastic resource is not lost.
There are many ways that you can help us raise the funds needed to keep the doors open and the lights on. Firstly, you can donate to this campaign and share it with others. Alternatively, you can make a donation in person at the museum during our opening hours of 10am-5pm, Monday to Saturday. Of course, we would also encourage you to visit the museum and immerse yourself in the history that we are aiming to protect.
All funds raised will go to the upkeep and preservation of the Drogheda Museum and Martello Tower,
Thank you.
