I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of one of my very dear friends whose family is currently going through a crisis.

On October 6, 2025, her husband was taken by ICE while he was on his way into the masjid to pray Fajr prayer. He had his son with him, which she had to go and pick up, all while trying to get her other 3 younger children ready for school. It was a very traumatic experience for them all, and she ended up keeping them home from school that day.

Now, she is left to pay for several bills that he was responsible for paying, while his case and status are being processed and determined.

The upcoming bills include the DTE (electricity), house taxes, and house insurance. On top of all this, her SNAP benefits that were helping her with food cost were cut off in November due to the government shutdown!

Many of you know her and some of you may not, but for those who do know her will know that Lorenda has the biggest heart and is always there for her community and now we are asking everyone to help support her and her family through this tough time.
