The Vicksburg Theatre Guild is raising money to replace Parkside Playhouse’s roof.
This month, funds will be raised in honor of what would have been Karen Nelson Sanders 64th birthday (October 12th). Karen went home to be with the Lord in March of this year after her brave battle with colon cancer.
Karen was an active member of the Vicksburg community. She performed in several productions at the Parkside Playhouse. One of her favorite roles was Rose Robinson in “Gold in the Hills,” which is the longest-running melodrama according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Even after she retired from performing in shows, Karen continued to be an avid patron of the theatre.
Vicksburg Theatre Guild’s mission is to provide the community with theatrical performances by the means of nationally known plays and melodramas; also to provide amateur children and adults with the experience of performing in such plays.
