Hello everyone, my name is Jan Howard. I am running the William Wallace Ultra 70km in October to raise funds for two incredible causes: Make-A-Wish-UK and the local Shetland Macmillan team. The run is in honour of Etta Hannah, an amazing 12 year old girl, who is currently undergoing 70 weeks of chemotherapy for a pilocytic astrocytoma. I have known Etta whilst working as a children's nurse in Shetland since she was first diagnosed in 2018. Etta is an incredibly brave and strong young lady who has had to deal with the daily reality of living with a critical illness and the treatment that goes with it.
Make-A-Wish-UK helped Etta following her previous chemotherapy treatment by granting her wish to see Little Mix. The local Macmillan team have been fantastic in enabling Etta to have most of her 70 weeks chemotherapy treatment to be given here in Shetland. Without this, Etta and her family would have had to travel to the hospital in Aberdeen every single week.
Please support Etta and these two amazing charities by donating today and help make a difference!
Thank you for your support!
