Hello everyone! I'm Struan, and I'm looking to fundraise for two causes for our community.

I'm going to be running the Coll Half Marathon in August. I've run marathons on the mainland, but this will be my first race in the Hebrides, and it feels like the right place to run for causes this close to home.

Mull and Iona Archery Club All Weather Shelter at Garmony

Mull and Iona's archery club is a young club which has grown to a membership of over 50 since it was established in 2024. The club is open to all abilities and backgrounds, and prides itself on inclusivity.

We're looking to establish an all weather shelter on the Garmony grounds so we have our own home (we've been living between the Bunessan, Dervaig and Craignure village halls), and have a space to make the sport more accessible to the wider community.

The shelter costs around £40,000 to build, and thanks to matched funding from funding bodies, we only need to raise £20,000 ourselves. Every pound donated becomes two.

The club's really looked after me, and I'm looking to give back.

Indoor Sports Hall at Garmony

Living on Mull is wonderful, but if you want to stay active through a Scottish winter (or summer!), your options are limited. There's no gym, no indoor court, no covered space to run, train, or just move. For families, young people, and older residents alike, that gap is real and felt.

There's an initiative to build an Indoor Sports Hall at Garmony, a space with a gym, sports hall, and spaces for people to come together. This will make a meaningful difference to the lives of many people on Mull.

I'm far from alone in caring about this. My friend Amanda MacQuarrie has already raised over £1,000 towards making it happen, and her campaign showed just how much this matters to people on and off the island. I'd love to add to that momentum.

How the donation will be split

I'll be dividing all donations 50/50 between those two causes.

Mull is a small island with a big community spirit. Whatever you can give, it goes directly towards something lasting. Thank you for being part of it.
