Hi, my name is Ellie, and I’m fundraising for the Cambridge PHAB Club.
PHAB Clubs are inclusive communities where disabled and non-disabled people come together to socialise, have fun, and build lifelong friendships. They offer a place to belong — a place to thrive.
We're raising funds in memory of our much-loved Uncle Richard, who sadly passed away on 15th July 2025. Richard faced many challenges throughout his life. Born with cerebral palsy and epilepsy, he was later hit by a car as a child, which resulted in the loss of a kidney and further limiting his mobility.
Despite these difficulties, Richard was determined to live as full and independent a life as possible. He became a porter at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and found a second home at the Cambridge PHAB Club, attending every Friday evening from 7 to 9pm.
Through PHAB, Richard was able to travel — to America, Germany, and beyond — creating treasured memories and lifelong friendships along the way. The club gave him not just opportunities, but confidence, joy, and a true sense of belonging. It allowed him to live life on his own terms, and for that, we are forever grateful.
We would be incredibly thankful if you could consider donating to help support the amazing work PHAB continues to do. It meant the world to Richard — and means so much to our family.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
